Supporting Veterans, Lowering Taxes, and helping local business:

My accomplishments on the Village Board 2008-2009

While serving on the Village of Manlius Board of Trustees I had the opportunity to support veterans by voting for a tax break for cold war era veterans.

I also sponsored and passed a local law aimed at helping new businesses have a fighting chance at success. I supported the brave men and women of our fire department, and made sure they got the funding they needed for supplies, gear, and training.

I stood up for the taxpayers- working to reduce costs and be responsive to their needs. As your Village Trustee, I will do the same.

 

Community Service

As President of the Greater Manlius Chamber of Commerce, and a current commiittee member on the Oz-Stravaganza Committee,  I worked to support our local businesses and the community.

I serve as a volunteer judge in the Regional and State finals for the DECA competitions for Marketing and Business students throughout our area. Helping High School students apply business and marketing principles in the real world.

I am a member and volunteer at WCNY public television. Public TV helps to educate and enlighten our children in ways we could only imagine years ago. Many subjects taught in a fun way so that pre-schoolers and school age children alike can be educated and entertained at the same time.

I support the SEIU and our local teachers by volunteering to participate in school functions, PARP programs (People as Reading Partners), and other events and activities.

Family

Family is very important to me. My wife and I keep involved in our children's activities, and have been blessed by the wealth of resources the Town of Manlius has to offer. From recreation programs in the Village and the Town, to the parks...from the police department open house, to the businesses (like Lavalle's USA Blackbelt Champions) where our kids can learn- the Town of Manlius has it all.

As your Village Trustee, I will work to keep the enhanced private and public activities available to our youth by planning for long term fiscal stability for the town, and having an inviting, supportive place for businesses to grow.
